These little heart shaped sugar cubes are the sweetest addition to any tea party. With just two ingredients, they couldn’t be easier to make. What an extra-special touch for your next cup of tea!
My kids really like tea parties… though usually at our house, it’s a hot chocolate party. This is our new favorite way to use sugar cubes.
Try my Quick Hot Chocolate, but I don’t sweeten it at all. Instead, let the kids add a few sugar cubes to their cups! They’ll love it!! One little switch can make a tea party (or a, hot chocolate party) feel like something special!
What you’ll need
a small bowl
a silicone mold like this
water
- food coloring is optional
How to make Sugar Cubes
This honestly, could not be simpler!! In a bowl, combine the sugar and water. Using a fork to mix will ensure that the sugar is evenly coated, while remaining fluffy.
Next, press the moistened sugar into a silicone mold. The back of a spoon is a good tool for this job.
That’s it!! Now just let your sugar sit overnight to dry. Be sure to cover/protect it from pests and little helpers who might want a taste!
The next morning, just pop the sagar cubes out of the molds and into your cup! Enjoy!!

Sugar Cube Variations
If you would like colorful sugar cubes, add 2-3 drops of food coloring to the water before mixing.
You can also make these flavored by adding either extracts or food grade essential oils to the water before mixing.
